Full error name: “Couldn’t use or obtain category information as this is an invite-only category. Contact the account manager or TikTok Shop support team for permission to access this category or select another one.”
Cause
This error refers to the fact that there are a few categories that you are allowed to use if TikTok Shop has invited you to use them.
Please note that a seller must possess all necessary qualifications to conduct business activities on TikTok Shop.
Solution
If you attempt to use these categories without invitation from TikTok, you will receive error messages.
A possible solution is to try changing the product category to one that more closely aligns with its characteristics. In some cases, neighboring categories, do not require certifications.
This can be easily done by editing the keywords contained in the Category field of a product in Nembol. This info will be used as a main input for the AI-based categorizer to TikTok.
To do it:
- Go to the Products tab.
- Select the interested product, and go to the Organize & classify section.
- Insert the new category.
- Save!
