How to connect Google Merchant to Nembol

The following steps will help you connect your Google Merchant account to Nembol.

  1. Login to your Nembol account, then open the Channels Tab.
  2. Click on the “Connect channels +” top left, where you can find the list of available channels.
  3. Find Google Merchant, and click on it.
  4. The system will automatically open a Google Accounts sign-in page.
  5. Please sign-in using your Google login-name and password, or pick your chosen Google Accounts, if you have multiple connected to the browser you’re using (no worries: Nembol will have no access to your Google sign-in information).
  6. Google Merchant will now ask you to confirm authorization to Nembol to operate on Google Merchant on your behalf. Click “Continue”.
  7. After a few seconds, the system will bring you back to Nembol.

Please note: You can connect and use up to 10 Google Merchant accounts simultaneously in Nembol with the Enterprise+ plan, 4 with the Enterprise plan, and 2 with the Pro plan.

Points of attention

  1. Google requires you to have a verified store URL connected to your Google Merchant account for you to be able to connect to Nembol.
  2. Google will ask you a proof of ownership to connect your e-commerce store. This may take the form of adding a snipped of code to your website, or to your domain name.
  3. The above proof of ownership cannot be done on a marketplace, therefore you can’t connect Google Merchant to your eBay, nor Amazon, nor Etsy stores.
  4. Nembol can provide you an Easy Website, in just seconds, when you set-up Google Merchant. Easy Website complies with Google policies, as well as with good business and marketing practices.

You may choose Nembol to provide you a website right at the end of the login routine in Google Merchant. This will ease you into Google Merchant, and will offer you the opportunity to list products from marketplaces such as eBay, Amazon, and others.

Google Merchant settings within Nembol: Setup Guide

In Nembol you can find settings which are common to all channels, called Sync Settings, and settings which are specific per channel.

Sync settings

If you want to manage Sync Settings:

  1. Go to the Channels tab
  2. Click on the Sync Settings button
  3. Here, you choose what you want to update on which channels, and how.

Sync stock from a channel

When an order is received

Nembol can synchronize inventory across your Google Merchant account and up to ten each of:

  • Amazon
  • Shopify
  • eBay
  • Other Google Merchant accounts
  • WooCommerce
  • Etsy
  • Meta Catalog (Facebook Shops and Instagram Shopping)
  • TikTok Shop

Please note that some of the channels may display just an “in-stock” vs. “out-of-stock” product status, rather than displaying an exact stock count. Examples are Google Merchant and Meta Commerce. Regardless, thanks to Nembol technology, these channels will automatically sync with Nembol to maintain the needed background stock count.

Select the channels from which you want to receive stock updates. With this setup, when you get an order in a channel, this order will be communicated to Nembol, and your quantity will be updated accordingly in Nembol and in other channels connected to Nembol, including to and from Google Merchant.

Unselect the channels from which you don’t wish to receive stock updates.

Please note that Nembol does not sync manual stock updates done in Google Merchant. Nembol syncs only stock changes due to orders you received.

Push updates to channels

Select the channels in which you’d like to edit listing details from Nembol centrally. If you include Google Merchant, you’ll have product edits done in Nembol syndicated to your corresponding Google Merchant listings. With this setup, when you edit a listing in Nembol, for instance change a description, edit a title, tags, or pictures, those edits will update your corresponding Google Merchant listing.

Unselect the channels you don’t wish to be updated from Nembol.

Price rules

Before listing your products on Google Merchant, make sure to adjust the following settings according to your needs and objectives:

  • Choose your Price rules for Google Merchant in the Price rules setting. You can automatically adjust prices displayed on Google Merchant by percentage, or fixed amount compared to the default price showed in Nembol.
  • Choose whether to use the automatic .99 rounding or not. Research literature says that rounding makes your prices more attractive to prospective buyers.

Once done, start by test listing just a few of your products on Google Merchant.

Please always proceed gradually, test with one or a few products first, maybe picking them per type: one with variations, one without, one with pictures of a format or provenance, another with pictures of a different format or provenance.

Trim settings till editing results agree with your expectations. Once you’re done with testing, and results are according to your needs, proceed in bulk.

In case of any doubts or needs, please contact our Customer Support in the call-out link bottom left in each page.

Publish to Google Merchant

To manage Google Merchant publishing settings:

  1. Go to the Channels tab
  2. Find Google Merchant in the list of channels to which your Nembol has already been connected.

In the Publish section you can define how you want your products listed to Google Merchant from Nembol. Currently available settings are:

  1. Product link: Google Merchant requires a default domain where to link your products. Google Merchant is not a marketplace, currently, despite some experiments ran in the past in some country markets, therefore it needs to function a web property where to land the clicks your products will receive on Google pages, or where to point the links highlighted in the AI overviews, or in other AIs. This is where you can do this.
  2. Feed settings: you can tell Google your Target Country, the language of the content you provide, and the currency of the prices you display.
  3. Other optional information: Google Merchant allows you to define further info, such as your items’ condition, of hint to a product category, and more. The option to provide these info in Nembol may change over time, and you are better off by verifying the Publish settings every now and again.

Import products from Google Merchant

Nembol allows you to import products you may already have in Google Merchant in order to alternatively:

A. Link them to products you already on other channels.
B. List them on additional channels, without the need to create them again.

Pro and higher Nembol plans allow you to set how Nembol will import your products from Google Merchant.

  1. Go to the Channels tab in Nembol.
  2. Find Google Merchant in the list of channels.
  3. Click the Import settings button at the top.

Filters may change over time, please review the Import settings every now and again.

Currently available filters are:

  1. Product status: you may choose to import all products, or only products approved by Google Merchant
  2. Product availability: you may choose to import in Nembol only available products or all of them.
  3. Import updates: turn this option ON, and Nembol will update products you already have in Nembol with changes you have done in the meantime to the same product inside your Google Merchant account. Keep it OFF, and the product in Nembol will stay unchanged, even if you changed it in Google Merchant.
Whatever your setting, Nembol will never import again a product already in Nembol. This is designed so to avoid duplicate products in Nembol.

You may experience duplicated products in Nembol only if:
A. You have duplicated products in the channel or channels you import from.
B. You import the same product from multiple channels, but said products do not have the same SKU code in the source channel
