Common settings setup: Squarespace

Sync stock from a channel

When an order is received

Enable Squarespace if you want every paid order placed on your Squarespace store to automatically update inventory in Nembol.

When an order is imported, Nembol recalculates stock levels and propagates the changes to your other connected sales channels.

To enable this option:

  1. Open the Channels tab.
  2. Select Common Settings.
  3. Enable When an order is received for Squarespace
  4. Select the additional channels you want to synchronize.

Your changes are saved automatically.

When stock is edited

Choose whether Squarespace should update stock levels in Nembol whenever the quantity changes in the store, including inventory adjustments made manually or through connected apps.

To enable this option:

  1. Open the Channels tab.
  2. Select Common Settings.
  3. Enable When stock is edited for Squarespace.

Push updates to channels

Enable Squarespace under Push updates to channels if you want Nembol to manage your product catalog.

Whenever you edit products in Nembol, the corresponding information is automatically updated in Squarespace, including:

  • titles
  • descriptions
  • prices
  • inventory
  • tags
  • images
  • variants

To activate this option:

  1. Open Channels.
  2. Select Common Settings.
  3. Scroll to Push updates to channels.
  4. Click the edit icon.
  5. Enable Squarespace.
  6. Select any additional channels you want to keep synchronized.

Pull content from a channel

If you prefer to manage your product catalog directly from Squarespace, you can enable Squarespace as a source of updates.

To enable this function:

  1. Open the Channels tab in Nembol
  2. Click Common settings
  3. Scroll down and enable “Pull content from a channel” for Squarespace.

Please note: due to a limitation with Squarespace, edits made in Squarespace are pulled into Nembol every 10 minutes. Allow up to 10 minutes for your changes to appear.

Publish to Squarespace

When publishing products to Squarespace, you can customize how new listings are created in your store.

  1. Open your Channels tab within Nembol
  2. Select Squarespace
  3. Click on Publish settings

The available publish settings are:

Store Page
Choose the Squarespace Store Page where products published from Nembol will be created.

Title prefix
Add custom text before every product title published to Squarespace. This can be useful for promotional labels or internal naming conventions.

Shorten long titles
If a product title exceeds Squarespace’s maximum supported length, Nembol can automatically shorten it to ensure the product is published successfully.

Import from Squarespace

To import products from Squarespace:

  1. Open the Products tab.
  2. Click Import button
  3. Select Import from channels
  4. Select Squarespace

Click Settings to configure the import before starting.

The available import settings are:

Products to import
Choose whether to import visible products only, hidden products only, or all products from your Squarespace store.

Strip HTML from descriptions
Enable this option to remove HTML formatting from product descriptions imported into Nembol.

Quantity in stock
Filter the products to import based on their available inventory quantity in Squarespace.

During the import process, Nembol also matches products already present in your catalog whenever possible, allowing existing items to be linked instead of creating duplicates.

How variants work on Squarespace

Squarespace supports product variants, allowing sellers to create different versions of the same product, such as different sizes, colors, or styles.

Each variant can have its own:

  • SKU
  • Price
  • Stock quantity
  • Image

Nembol supports Squarespace variants and keeps variant information synchronized between Nembol and Squarespace.

Variant images

Squarespace allows each variant to have a single image selected from the product gallery.

Unlike a full gallery dedicated to each variant, Squarespace uses a one-image-per-variant model. The main product gallery itself is unlimited, and additional product images can still be added to the product.

Nembol automatically manages variant image synchronization, uploading images and associating them with the correct variants.

Transfer orders to Squarespace for fulfillment

If you handle fulfillment from your Squarespace store, Nembol can send the orders you receive elsewhere into it, so you work from one backend instead of switching between platforms.

Orders placed on supported channels are transferred into Squarespace, where you fulfill them alongside your own store’s orders.

To enable Transfer orders to Squarespace:

  1. Open the Channels tab in Nembol.
  2. Click Common Settings.
  3. Enable “Transfer orders for fulfillment” for Squarespace.
  4. Enable “Sync stock from a channel” on each channel whose orders you want to bring in.

Once enabled, orders received on your connected channels are transferred to Squarespace and managed through your Squarespace workflow. See Transfer orders for fulfillment for how the function behaves across channels.

Please note: the order transfer feature is included with the Pro plan and higher. It is also available for testing during your free trial.

Things to know about Squarespace

There are a few Squarespace-specific aspects to keep in mind:

  • No marketplace-style categories or required attributes. Squarespace is an online store platform rather than a marketplace, so there are no mandatory taxonomies or required product specifics. This makes publishing products simpler compared to marketplaces such as eBay or Amazon.
  • OAuth connection approval. The Squarespace connection requires manual approval of the OAuth application on Squarespace’s side. This is a Squarespace platform requirement and only affects the initial integration setup; once connected, sellers can use the integration normally without additional steps.
